Signs of a "haunting". -by John York
A haunting is the repeated manifestaion of paranormal activity in a specific location. There are many indications regarding hauntings and the first step is to eliminate all possible natural sources of the events.
Unexplained sounds are the most common sign of a haunting.
-footsteps
-knocking/rapping
-disembodied voices
-doors/windows opening and closing
-sound of furniture moving
Cold spots- By theory, cold spots can be the result of energy being
collected in an attempt for a spirit to manifest.
Missing items- An indicator of an "intelligent" haunt.
Smells.
Visual- shadows, mists, lights, human "forms"
Feelings of a presence.
Physical- Witnessing objests move on their own, being touched, pulled, pushed etc;
There are many different factors that are taken into consideration in a "haunting". The key is to eliminate the most possible explainations for why a door slams shut when you are the only one home and there are no "breezes" or winds comming through the home. Or why did the temperature drop rapidly 10 degrees when you don't have air conditioning and it's 95 outside?
A true haunting will most likely be a combination of unexplainable, repeated events.
