John York
Founder / AGS Utah Rep

Like many people, I have had an interest in the paranormal as long as I can remember. I have had many encounters but cannot say that I've actually lived in a "haunted" location.

My first and earliest recollection of a paranormal event was when I was about 8 years old. I awoke to the image of a woman or young girl "floating" above my bed. Even as I ran downstairs, looking back she was still there. It was many years later that I learned of the drowning of a young girl that lived in this house.

Although I believe in the possibility of  "hauntings", most cases can be explained to be that of a natural source.

I formed UROPA in '08 in an attempt to learn about and educate those dealing with this phenomenon.  I know there are many people that are cautious speaking of this subject and wanted to create an awareness to let those people understand that you can talk to us without fear of "ridicule".

Dylan Jones
Lead investigator

I have always had an interest in all things Paranormal.
After watching and reading and studying about paranormal locations and experiences for several years, I began
actively investigating on my own in 2006. I then gathered with a group of friends that had similar paranormal
interests, and we began investigating together in 2007. That group dissolved, but my interest in the
paranormal did not.

My specialty on investigations (before, during and after) is debunking. I enjoy the challenge of trying to
offer alternative explanations before jumping to the conclusion that something paranormal has transpired. I
have a technical troubleshooting background, so I also enjoy utilizing available technologies to research and
to gather evidence out in the field
Kelly Flynn
Case manager / investigator

Kelly is passionate about the paranormal.  When she's not working as a paralegal or spending time with her family, you will find her either reading, researching, or investigating the mysteries of the paranormal.

Throughout the years of investigating the paranormal, she found that she is most skilled at capturing EVP's.  She has improved this skill through hours of patiently listening to tapes and testing different techniques.

Kelly started investigating on her own in 2001.  During a 2003 group investigation of the Grist Mill Inn in Moab, Utah she captured an interesting photo of what appears to be an entity in a window.  You can find this photo published in Jeff Belanger's book, Encyclopedia of Haunted Places.

Kelly also writes articles for the Ogden paranormal examiner. Check it out here.

Investigator- "Prospect"

As early as I can remember I have been fascinated with the paranormal. As a child I had experiences with spirits that tried to communicate with me and being a child, that scared me. As I grew up, that feeling changed from scared to fascination. I have had several personal experiences that I can not explain, and several I can.

My passion as a paranormal investigator is to decipher the two. I have been actively investigating with friends that have the same passion as I since 2006. I enjoy helping families find comfort in regards to events they cannot explain.

I love researching historic locations and learning of the claims of activity. I have a need to find alternative reasons for activity before automatically jumping to the conclusion that the site is "Haunted".

I feel anything you do in life should excite you and give you meaning to the time spent doing it. I am very interested in what happens when we leave our physical bodies, why some stay and others seem to go on... Maybe someday we will find the answer.

When I am not researching or investigating, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and playing softball. I also enjoy working with the elderly, to help them keep their quality of life when they enter a long term living/rehab facility. That is a little about me, happy hunting all!

Jena Smith
Investigator- "Prospect"

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with "Haunted houses". I would tell my mother where all the haunted houses were in our city, state and the world. Every story I would write for school, was about a haunted building and the spirits that were inside. As I grew up, my obsession turned into a quest to find out if they really do exist and how I could capture them on film or see an actual apparition. I eventually got caught up in life, getting married, children and work thus, I let this interest slip to the side.

In 2004, I began working in a building that was originally built in the late 1800's and always used as a medical facility. I experienced alot of unusual activity at this place and this re-sparked my interest in the paranormal. I began doing serious investigations in 2006 with a couple of friends of mine, catching some good EVP's that we could not duplicate. I consider myself a skeptic and look forward to the challenge of finding a cause for the activity instead of jumping to conclusions. I love sharing and hearing about other people's experiences.

When not out investigating, I can be found involved with family, music, camping, dancing and decorating cakes. I also enjoy working with geriatrics and the physically and cognitively impaired.
