The answer is yes but it is not common. There are things that you can do to possibly prevent a "ghost" from following you home and one of which, is to ask.
Before I begin an investigation I will ask (pray) for protection from negative energy but also for an open communication between the spirits who are there. When I leave, I command all spirits to stay there and not follow me home.
On the night I believe I was followed, I forgot to tell them they are not welcome to follow me home. I didn't think anything of it that night because it was late and I went to sleep. This was the first time I investigated the Union Station.
It wasn't until I felt I was being watched all day that, later that night, I did an evp session asking if there was anyone there who had followed me home and I received a "yes".
I then proceeded to be rude and unkind, which I was being all that first night and commanded him to leave. And I think that made him leave.
I don't know where he went but I believe it was just for two days. I don't know why he chose me. Maybe I reminded him of some one he once loved. I don't know.
I think there is a chance of anyone being followed home for whatever reason. To others who believe they were followed, I would tell them to do the same thing that I did. If they want them to leave they have to command them to leave and tell them they aren't welcome. That's just my experience
