On this particular case, we were invited to a home which was built in 1945 and is presently occupied by a family of 5. The father of the house works a graveyard shift and his wife is a stay at home mother. They have 3 children between the ages of 6 and 11.
During the initial interview we learned that there was strange activity that occured mostly during the time the father was at work. The occurences do not seem to be consistant or on a regular basis but they do happen. Some of the instances were the sounds of footsteps going up the stairs toward the childrens bedrooms but upon investigating the sounds the wife found that no one else was in the home besides the sleeping children. Footsteps have also been heard in the master bedroom while the mother was alone and watching t.v. Stepping out of the shower once, the wife noticed what appeared to be writing/scribbling on the bathroom mirror as if a small child that could not spell was trying to write something. This instance may or may not be the result of the children in the house smearing their fingers on the mirror beforehand only to show up once the steam from the shower covered the mirror. However it did not show up the next day and was not there previously. The children often feel as if they are being "followed" up the stairs and in one instance one of the children claims to have seen an older woman dressed in "old style" clothing standing outside her bedroom. This child was the oldest of the three.
The family over all do not feel as if these activities are "bad" or "negative" but are somewhat apprehensive about the situation. It was the night of a new moon when we arrived and we did not get any unusual feelings inside the home except for the feeling of unfamiliararity. We went through the house and did not pick up any temperature changes or EMF readings.
However, upon reviewing the audio we picked up EVP. The two here are the most prominent and are not amplified or modified in any way. The first one was before we went upstairs and was recorded with digital audio. This is just a clip of the conversation in which there are actually two voices. At the time, a person was asking about how many exposures the roll of film in the 35mm camera had in it. You can hear him say, "on the top it says .5"and the first EVP is but a whisper. I finish by telling him how the camera will automatically rewind when finished and there is a very prominent voice that I just cannot understand (the glow?) with surety. Note: before the recordings a member of the group who is rather tall kept hitting his head on a set of chimes that was in a particular doorway.
The second recording was upstairs where the apparition was seen by the oldest daughter. This was on a regular cassette recorder with an external microphone. The team member just sat down on a bench and placed the recorder next to him.
This is an on going investigation.
