Private Residence 2 Brigham City, Ut
On Feb 2, 2009 UROPA investigated a Brigham City home occupied by a woman and her husband. They reported that odd occurrences have taken place on a fairly regular basis in this home for as long as they have owned it. Soon after they moved in about 5 years ago, they felt as if they were not alone.
The home was built in 1959 and has passed ownership several times with no known deaths at the property itself.
The family has experienced many unexplainable events in this particular home, including the sound of doors closing when no one in the family was going in or out of any door at the time the sound was heard. A loud "crashing" sound was heard in the basement area and upon inspection, nothing was out of place that would indicate a source for the noise was found. Pictures coming off walls, disembodied voices, a "form" or apparition of a woman standing in the kitchen area has been seen a couple of times. A smell that they could only describe as the smell of an "old man". The husband has felt someone or "something" actually climb into bed with him alarming him so much that he yelled out for his wife. She on the other hand claims to have been "choked" on more than one occasion.
On this investigation, we set up a 4 channel DVR system in hopes of capturing some of the alleged activity. We also had EMF meters, 3 digital audio recorders, a digital camera and 2 camcorders covering every room that had reports of activity.
At one point during the investigation, we were in a room that is being used as an office when an investigator felt something touch her hair. We immediately looked for anything that could have "brushed" against her hair and found not even a cobweb.
In this same room while conducting an EVP session,, two of us heard a distinct sound of something sliding across a wooden bookcase that was in the room. The bookcase had 4 glass panel doors that could open to allow access to the items inside. The bookcase is being used for items other than books such as vases, glassware and other trinkets. On top of the bookcase is a clock and a heavy "figurine".
It was obvious to Kelly and Dylan that the sound came from the bookcase but, the source of the sound was not located.
Although I did not hear the sound at the time, it was picked up on a digital audio recorder as well as a video recorder. I asked during our EVP session for it to make a loud noise. "It's going to have to be loud, so we can hear you"
In another room (downstairs bedroom) we continued our investigation and 2 of us had personal experiences. I was standing near the west side of the room when I felt what seemed to be a touch or tug on the back of my shirt. I did not say at the time of what I felt as I am somewhat of a skeptical person. It was only after I had moved to the opposite side of the room and when Kelly moved to the side I felt the "tug" that I mentioned what had happened. This was only because when Kelly went to where I was standing, she felt something on the back of her shirt as well and quickly said so. She described it as "burning".
After reviewing collected evidence with EVP's , EMF and our personal experiences, we believe that the possibility of an intelligent haunting may very well be the case at this particular home.
We have arranged a follow up investigation...
At another time near a bedroom upstairs, Kelly was startled by a cat and commented on it . This EVP seems to be in response to or acknowledging her comment.
